Summary/Abstract: The article Fjodor Michailovic Dostoevsky: the archetype of God seeker analyses the life and work of Dostoevsky in a particular period of his life. Dostoevsky’s childhood was characterixed partly by religious spontaneity, but also by egoistic selfishness. His adolescence culminated into false idealism. Discovery of dark pages of nature brings young Dostoevsky to inner conversion to the gospel. Adulthood of Dostoevsky was distinguished by the tension between belief and doubt, state of cheers and no cheers, gradual purification on the way to God-humanity.
