Summary/Abstract: In the context of studies of French writing and literature, the two reviews focus on two volumes recently published in Romania, Jacques le Rider's and Jean-Paul Sartre's approaches to diaries. While LeRider professionaly analyses the diaries of Vienna writers - from the point of view of structure, contents, corresondence to the enlarged framework of the time and space they illustrate -, Sartre stands in an unfriendly relationship to his own writings, experiencing an own identity crisis in relation to his literary productions. Both reviewed volumes bear an undisputable documentary value, revigorating certain concepts and artistic realities.
