Summary/Abstract: The article presents the personal experience of a Bulgarian language teacher with bilingual children who live in a closed communicative environment where the main language of communication is Turkish. We describe the application of a reflexive teaching approach in Bulgarian language training of bilingual students from the fifth to the seventh grade. The main goal is to modify children’s behaviour and self-awareness, and to change their attitudes towards learning.
