Summary/Abstract: Emanuel Ringelblum is mainly remembered for the archive he established in the Warsaw ghetto, Oyneg Shabes. However, it was his outstanding activities prior to the war that enabled him to evolve into a prominent and influential historian and prepared him for the huge task of documentation that he had carried out during WWII.
