Breakout session “The world seen from the other side – the expectations of people with disabilities”

Summary/Abstract: The study comprises a record of the panel discussion, which took place in the framework of the Jubilee Scientific Conference “Constructing a world of people with disabilities – between the actual change and the sham change”. The conference was held in April 2014 in Ustroń. The intention of the authors was to discuss the developments in special education as well as in various areas of everyday life of people with disabilities. The key question was how these changes are seen from their perspective. Panel members were people with disabilities and one parent of a disabled child. A selection of panelists allowed for a broad look at the reality of the disabled these days.
