Summary/Abstract: The study An Accented Cinema. Exilic and Diasporic Filmmaking by Hamid Naficy states that there are three types of accented cinema: exilic, diasporic and ethnic cinema. While binarism and subtraction characterize exilic films, diasporic films are rather printed by multiplicity and addition. Compared to the first two categories, the third –that of postcolonial ethnic directors – is a category fundamentally imbued with the politics of identity. Starting from these presuppositions, my article ads another category to this triple articulation, namely metasporic logic, as it is developed by Joël Des Rosiers in his book, Métaspora. Essai sur les patries intimes, which is applied to the analysis of the film Incendies by Denis Villeneuve (2010).
