Summary/Abstract: For a successful education, it is of tremendous importance to promote critical reading and writing skills and they are closely connected to the development of critical thinking. The subject of the following article is to discuss some of the roles the teacher has in reforming education of the 21-st century. In the teacher– student–studied discipline triad, the individual and psycho-social attitudes of the teacher as well as of the student can be encountered. A substantial difficulty for each school teacher is the “awakening” of students` interest for the existence of different problems - having in mind that the teacher is an important actor in the educational situation. The educational discourse has to inspire such education that poses problems and forms abilities and competences, rather to reproduce information chunks from various fields of knowledge.
