Summary/Abstract: This article explores the complexity of the processes of creating new urban imaginaries in the city of Zagreb after the Second Word War. Most Yugoslav cities had undergone major transformations during that time, as people moved increasingly into urban centres. The article focuses on two documentary films that capture the new social imaginary projected by the socialist spatial order in order to analyze how the new visuality is constituted within the heterogeneous discursive practices (nation, class, gender, age) that have operated at that time.
