Summary/Abstract: The article studies different aspects of the preparation of the interpreter, the formation of linguistic and extralinguistic knowledge and skills, the necessity of background knowledge, and the acquisition of specific methods and techniques of oral communication and public speech, etc., on the basis of the experience of the Master Programme in Interpretation at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
