Summary/Abstract: In 1906 Prof. Kazimierz Nitsch conducted a dialectological research in the Warmia-Masuria region, which was not only important for his own description of Polish dialects, but also for the Poles who inhabited the area – at that time East Prussia, a province of the German Empire. In the fiftieth anniversary of the event, a formal meeting was organized with the scholar in Olsztyn, the main part of which took place in the knight’s chamber of the Olsztyn castle. Recently, a recording of K. Nitsch’s speech has been found in the collections of the Department of Dialectology at the Institute of Polish Philology of A. Mickiewicz University in Poznań. It is probably the only recording of the voice of the great linguist. For this reason, we publish both the transcript and the original recording, available at www.lingvaria.polonistyka.uj.edu.pl/nagranie-wystapienia-prof.-k.-nitscha_1956-r.
