Summary/Abstract: In his writings Ernst Jünger describes World War I as an ecstatic event corresponding with an intensified experience and a genesis of an heroic subject. The article outlines important configurations within the configuration of this subject along Jünger’s criticism of modernity and the affirmation of transgressing the subject.
