Summary/Abstract: The article introduces the possibility of correctly assessing the forensic footprints in providing a crime scene and determining the causes of fires. The investigation of fires carries the risk of failing to provide traces at the crime scene and, as a consequence, insufficient investigation of any criminal offense. The authors discuss the general outline of the criminological footprints and also provide concrete examples of criminalistic traces in the case of the investigation of the causes of fires. The use of forensic traces is in both the identification of objects and the view of the creation of criminalistic versions. In the end, they give an example of a typical trace that can be found in places of fires.
