Summary/Abstract: The Golem is a fantastical being that has spread throughout the world since its creation. Prague, in particular, is impossible to imagine without it. Originally a Jewish mystical figure, kneaded out of clay, which could be called to life or recalled to nothingness through the Holy Name, it gradually infiltrated the non-Jewish world in new guises. Multi-formed and multi-layered, adaptable and always new, the Golem has found its way not only into literature, film, music and art, but also into the world of computers and robots, where new perspectives have been opened up for it by artificial intelligence.
