Summary/Abstract: The article depicts considerations in the field of higher education sector and academic governance. It presents the basics and assumptions of the internal audit functions in Polish public sector. It also discusses the internal audit function on the example of a public University in Poland, and the role of internal audit in academic governance’ assessment.
