Summary/Abstract: The availability for work and durability of employment of disabled people depends on a range of factors. These are factors of demographic-social, cultural, economic, legal, organizational-institutional nature. These are also factors of biomedical nature (psychological-personal and medical) that shape individual functional abilities of the individual, i.a. the nature of cognitive processes, knowledge acquisition, development of skills and competences that are significant from the point of view of professional path, efficiency of work that is provided, mobility, flexibility or adaptability skills. The aim of this paper is to discuss functional nature of people with various disabilities in the context of professional limitations and capabilities.
