Summary/Abstract: The article points to diffusion of innovation as a consequence of popularization and dissemination of the results of projects implemented with the help of the Structural Funds. Attention has been paid to the progressive nature of the diffusion process. It is a kind of transformation that contributes to accelerated changes in structure and function within the business ecosystem, as a result of the adoption or rejection of a given innovation. The diffusion process involves not only the spread, but also popularization of innovation. The innovations resulting from the involvement of public funds, which impose additional restrictions on undertakings promoting the solutions developed in the regional and national system, play an important role in this process.
