Summary/Abstract: The life of Jan Vasek, a.k.a. Jan Shanel, Jan Bednar and Little Jan, one of the best border-crossing agents of the late 1940s and early 1950s, could be a good motif for a Hollywood movie. It had all attributes of an espionage drama from the beginnings of the Cold War, including secret services, covert identity, intelligence networks and gunfights at the state border.
