Summary/Abstract: Presented are the results of a theoretical and empirical study of the problem of prolonging an active working age of women who can be competitive in the modern labor market in the conditions of employers’ adherence to negative stereotypes of aging. The characteristic of the Russian specificity of the woman’s entry into a late age is given. Factors that facilitate this entry are disclosed, including those existing at the level of conscious motivation, as well as the factors that reduce the quality of a woman’s life at a later age. The need to introduce the concept of the socio-psychological age of a woman is shown; its working definition is given. The empirical material shows that labor activity is that sphere in which the discrepancy between the chronological and socio-psychological age of women is found out, that the organizational conditions of enterprises significantly influence the process of psychological aging of employees and the manifestation of their socio-psychological characteristics. As characteristics of the socio-psychological age, adherence to the values of organizational development, susceptibility to stereotypes, openness and responsibility for decision-making, conflict and exit strategies, susceptibility to organizational stress and ways to overcome it are investigated. It has been revealed that the employees of innovative enterprises with chronological age over 55 years in terms of their significant social and psychological characteristics are not that different from their colleagues under the age of 50 years. A number of psychological characteristics that are most prone to age-related changes in innovative organizational conditions are singled out: displacement of the motivational balance in favor of common motivation, a decrease in the level of openness and trust in managers, increased exposure to organizational stress, and the desire for psychological protection from stress in the form of advance preparation for change. Besides, according to these characteristics employees of innovative enterprises differ in a positive way from their peers and younger women working in enterprises with archaic forms of organizational culture. Different age groups of female personnel are much closer in their organizational characteristics to their psychological characteristics than groups of the same age in organizational cultures of different types. It is shown that the socio-psychological age of a woman refers to the actual latent phenomena of organizational conditions. Proposals have been formulated to develop programs to contain psychological aging aimed at preserving the quality of life in various spheres of social, including labor, life. Such programs can be effective in the constructive interaction of social institutions working to overcome archaic forms of social life, for the management of enterprises that develop promising forms of personnel management, and psychological services that provide adequate assistance to people reaching the appropriate age levels.
