Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to determine a dominant trend (pro-Europeanism vs. Euroscepticism) in the EU image in national Polish press in the context of migration and refugee crisis in 2015. The author assessed the degree of populist and nationalistic tendencies in a press discourse. We assumed that affirmation of populism and nationalism in analyzed publications is a symptom of their Euroscepticism. The press analysis was conducted in the most popular national newspapers (Rzeczpospolita, Gazeta Wyborcza) and weeklies (Polityka, Newsweek Polska, W Sieci, Do Rzeczy). The research concerns the period after the Chancellor Angela Merkel announced to the public her decision about the opening of German borders to refugees. It took place during a yearly conference with journalists accredited in Berlin on 31 August 2015. The author applied a press contents analysis and additionally a sentiment analysis.
