Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the need for new strategies for development of higher professional education in Russia in the context of new global challenges. The authors focus their attention on the process of internationalization of higher education in Russia emphasizing the European development vector as a priority approach for integration of Russian higher education institutions into the global academic system.
