Summary/Abstract: From ancient times life and bodily integrity of a man have a special legal protection. These are various forms of violation and endangering of these most significant personal and social goods. Criminal offences against life, in form of illegal deprivation of man of his life – murder, is a blood delict, as form of classic, general crime. From earliest times to date, all criminal legislations including the Republic of Serbia, have prescribed severe sentences of imprisonment for these offences. Deprivation of life manifests in different forms and kinds, and we can, therefore, differ the following: a) a common murder, b) aggravated or qualified murders and c) less aggravated or privileged murders. The most severe sentence of long-term imprisonment of 30 to 40 years is prescribed for aggravated murder. This Paper deals with concept, characteristics and forms of manifestation of criminal offence of aggravated murder in the criminal law of the Republic of Serbia.
