Summary/Abstract: Capitulation of Italy and creation of Second League of Prizrenin September 1943 significantly changed daily life during the war in Old Ras and in Kosovo and Metohija. Albanian elite and proAlbanian Muslim leaders started to work on the formation of not only national, but as it appeared later, ethnically pure state within maximum territory boundaries. Such Albania should have encompassed the regions of Novi Pazar, Sjenica and Tutin, and Ibarski Kolasin as well. Knowing that local Serbian population would never accept such boundaries, Albanian and Muslim forces, helped by the occupier, commenced a number of activities against Christians aiming to remove them from the mentioned areas during September and October 1943 and February 1944. Direct consequence arising from the previously mentioned is that there were more than 10,000 displaced and several hundreds of killed Serbian civilians i.e. about 80 burned villages. Thus, the process of ethnic cleansing of Serbs from the territory of Stavica, Dezevo and Sjenica District and Ibarski Kolasin which had commenced as early as during 1941, was brought to an end.
