Summary/Abstract: It is seen that nowadays economies put emphasis on health expenditures as human capital so as to increase productivity in production and social wealthy in social area. The health services which are generally called semipublic goods and service in public economy, require the supply of public and private together. The subject of this research is the relationship between the sectorial distribution of health expenditure in public and private sectors and the share of health expenditures of countries in gross domestic product (GDP), to be able to provide health services to society in sufficient quality and quantity. The aim of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between the share of health expenditures in GDP and the sectorial distribution of health expenditure (as public and private sector) by comparing Turkey and other OECD countries. According to the findings that were obtained, sectoral choices that will increase health expenditures and contribute to the economic growth and development of countries will be proposed.
