Summary/Abstract: It has long been discussed who Barnabas was, whose real name was Barnaba, but known as Barnabas with the 's' letter which denotes a belonging, whether he really lived or not, whether he wrote the Bible or not, and whether the Bible known for his name really belonged to him or not. Although many biblical scriptures were written in the Early Christian Period, perhaps none of them was as much of an object of curiosity. The fact that the Gospel of Barnabas was regarded as the apocryphal (unaccepted by religious authorities) first started in the 2nd century, gained momentum in the XIX. century and the discussions and analyses were decisively and incommutably condemned in the XX. century. On the other hand, Muslims found out about the Gospel of Barnabas in a relatively late period. However, they started to produce works about the issue with the theology discussions of Christians in European Universities.
