Summary/Abstract: Social work is a profession and an academic discipline regarding the welfare for the individuals, groups and communities and the improvement of social justice. Social work with its qualities of being preventive, protective, empowering, rehabilitative and supportive operates within the framework of certain core values in order for individuals, groups and communities to access possibly the highest level of wellbeing. The subject of this paper is the vocational training and employment of the Syrians with respect to social work discipline with its legal and social aspects besides the current situation in the context of migration. Moreover, a project of vocational training and employment of the Syrian individuals residing in Izmir, Turkey has been described as a case of community social work practice. Finally, the course of the project and its outcomes have been subjected to an in-depth analysis under the headings of social analysis, social relations, planning, organizing, co-operating, and education.
