Summary/Abstract: The current article compares Roma with Romanian population in terms of various dimensions using data from the Household Budget Survey 2016. The current article aims to illustrate the multiple deprivations of the Roma population. The article is descriptive and aims to capture a snapshot of the Roma population using a large dataset. The article finds the traditional structure of the Roma family is preserved with Roma women more likely to be housewives, men more likely to be self employed workers, Roma have a lower educational status and are more likely to be poor.
