Summary/Abstract: „Throughout this essay, I attempt to suggest an interpretation of the concept of the last god as treated by Heidegger towards the end of his Beiträge1, and thereby to suggest some useful hints towards an understanding of the Heideggerian formula “Es gibt Sein”. The centrality of this theme for Heidegger’s ontology is undeniable especially if we give credit to Jean Greisch’s formula, which calls the figure of the last god “the most enigmatic figure with which the Heideggerian fugue of Being culminates”2. Before proceeding to outline the stages of my present investigation, I would like to make explicit two major kinds of premises and presuppositions, which set up the general framework within which my approach will be developed. A first kind of such premises concerns the position to be assigned to the Beiträge in the Heideggerian corpus.
