Unemployment - a challenge and reality of the reform in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: One of the most difficult problems society faces with during the transition to a market economy is unemployment. The restructuring of the national economy is connected with dismissing and reorientation of the redundant employees to other jobs and specialties Actually, in the most cases, the redundant are unable to find new jobs or other realization. In this relation the article deals with the reasons for the huge unemployment in Bulgaria. Observed the character, structure and the trends of the phenomenon. Special attention is drawn upon the economic, social and psychological effects of unemployment both for the individual and society. Also deals with the ways of overcoming the problem, namely, establishing of favorable climate for investments and private business. Thus, creating new jobs will bring about to stimulation of labor realization of the people and approaching the European standards by this country.
