Summary/Abstract: The flatland between the town of Kladno (west) and the river Moldau (Vltava) (east) is today a mostly agricultural area with small woods and villages. In the past it was inhabited by. among others, two cultures - the Funnel-beaker culture (Copper Age) and the Aunjetitz (Únétická) culture (Bronze age). In the article, the sites in which people of the two cultures chose to settle down in and. at the latter, also to bury their dead, are compared, using the methods of landscape phenomenology. Through the bodily experience of the landscape with its archaeological remains the author tries to find regularities in the settlement patterns of both these cultures and to postulate hypotheses on why particular places were inhabited.
