Summary/Abstract: This study aimed to adapt “Perceived Ability to Cope with Trauma Scale (PACT)” into Turkish and to examine its psychometric properties. The sample consisted of 170 college students: 118 females and 52 males who were above 18 years old. The average age was 21.33 (sd = 3.08). The Demographic Information Form, Perceived Ability to Cope with Trauma Scale (PACT Scale), Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ), and Ego-Resilience Scale (ERS) were used. Confirmatory Factor analysis results indicated that 20 items with two-factors had acceptable goodness of fit indices (2= 322.59, df =165, p < .01, GFI = .85, CFI = .89, NFI = .80, RMSEA = .07). In terms of internal consistency coefficients, PACT Scale’s Cronbach alpha value was calcu- lated as .79 and for Forward Focus subscale Cronbach alpha value was .90. and for Trauma Focus subscale it was .79. With regards to criterion-related validity, correlation coefficients among scales were significant and similar to the original study. Consequently, the Turkish version of the PACT has adequate psychometric properties. It can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool in evaluating perceived ability to cope with trauma.
