Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the links between selected personal dispositions and the perception of the quality of life among students in Poland and Ukraine. Due to the fact that research on the quality of life is determined by socio-cultural factors, it was assumed that the relationships between the analyzed variables may be different among the Polish students studying in Poland and the Ukrainian students studying in Ukraine. 100 students between the ages of 18–24 of both nationalities were studied. The following research tools were used: Life Satisfaction Scale (Diener, Emmons, Larson, Griffin, 1985), TIPI (Łaguna, Bąk, Purc, Mielniczuk, Oleś, 2014), Revised Portrait Questionnaire PVQ-40 by Shalom Shwartz, and the Life Orientation Test (Scheier, Carver, Bridges, 1994). The results revealed the relationships between perceptions of the quality of life and dispositional optimism as well as some personality traits in the group of Polish students. The obtained results are discussed in the context of probable external correlates of the quality of life of the Ukrainian students. The research highlights the need to undertake educational activities focused on supporting the development of personal dispositions at successive educational stages.
