Summary/Abstract: “Kitabu’t-Tarifat” (The Book of Definitions) is an alphabetical dictionary of basic concepts in many fields. One of the most studied and taught discipline was logic when this dictionary was written. Moreover, in that period, logic was seen as an instrument that could be used in other areas for thinking right. In this respect, this work contains many basic concepts used in the field of logic. In the tradition of Islamic logic, the topics about logic are approached with two main headings, which are tasavvurat and tasdikat. Tasavvurat corresponds to the sense of logic of concepts in the tradition of Western logic, as well as tasdikat equals to the sense of propositional logic and theory of syllogism. In the tradition of Islamic logic, it is dealt with concept types, five universals, categories and definitions under the title of tasavvurat.
