ECONOMIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TURKISH AND TURKISH REPUBLICS: AN EVALUATION ON FOREIGN TRADE, TOURISM AND INVESTMENT

Summary/Abstract: In this study, economic relations between Turkey and the Turkish Republics were evaluated in terms of foreign trade, foreign direct investments and tourism. In addition to the historical ties with Turkey, recent increases in income stemming from the marketing of natural resources indicate that the region has an important foreign trade potential for Turkey. The study prepared therefrom; the role of Turkey in foreign trade, the foreign direct investments it has made and the number of reciprocal tourists has been organized in the historical process and the economic relationship between the country group and Turkey has been put forward. Besides, the share of Turkey in export and import amounts of Turkish republics according to economic activity groups has been determined and the current situation has been determined on sector basis. As a result, it has been shown that although the economic relations between Turkey and the Turkic Republics have increased recently, they have not reached the desired level.
