Summary/Abstract: The Fourth Industrial Revolution as a topic is not yet widely spread, and many authors consider today’s economic and social changes as pertsining to a Digital Industrial Revolution. However, there are a number of signs that indicate that something qualitatively new is approaching, which will cause transformations in the systems in which humanity operates in the modern world. The education (and above all, the higher education) must be reformed and managed in a way that prepares the individual for a full life in these modern times. The purpose of this article is to analyze the Renewed EU Agenda for Higher Education. This would give some insight into how well the EU is understanding and addressing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution as regards the role of education for people, and how it views its supranational mission to support its citizens and institutions in this sphere.
