Summary/Abstract: Was clarified that the ratio of students to teaching and learning environment is an important topic in educational theory and practice. Today, it is particularly relevant, since its understanding and management determine the success of the educational system and the effectiveness of the school as an institution. This topic has become even more important in the strategic objectives of Europe and places new demands on the education systems of different countries. Its main aspects are related to the change of the nature of the educational process – from lifelong learning in lifelong learning. Discusses issues related to the school as part of life and places for living adolescents , motivation to learn, factors influencing the success of students, the role of the school environment , the interaction between teachers and students its influence on the development of children, especially in some ethnic groups reasons for dropping out of school in general and ethnic -term antisocial behavior at school – violence, aggression and sensitivity of students to fair and unfair treatment of teachers in assessing knowledge and many others. It is emphasized that the ratio of students to teaching and the environment is multi-layered and multifaceted problem that needs thorough investigation, especially in the often changing educational systems.
