Summary/Abstract: Ceramic art has a wide range of material, technical and site-specific aspects for personal expression of artists. One of these aspects is the art works with viewer interaction. These works puts the passive viewer from observing to an active role of participating. When a dialog is established between the viewer and the work, the context is complete. This choice gives the viewer the possibility of sharing and mutuality and the gives the artist a spontaneous period of process. The artist hands over the control of their work to the interaction and puts itself to the observer position. The changing positions in the relations of art has led up to the art movements and art forms such as Dada, Arte Povera, Performance, Land Art as well as Interactive Art. These movements and following art forms has weakened the strict rules and roles of artist- art object and viewer. After the interaction, art object changes into a more participative and performative structure. The possibilities that ceramic material has by its unique structure and the possibilities related to them can increase with viewer participation and interaction. The changing perspective on the art object can ensure the structural characteristics of ceramics, that can be observed as an obstacle, to serve the artist to build a more personal artistic way.
