Summary/Abstract: Even as one by one examinations are done or creative process is monitored on works in graphic designer portfolios, in fact, the clues about the designer’s potential are sought. The designer also collects their works through the portfolio and monitors the development process and reveals his / her personal characteristics by preparing specific presentations that will follow the development process. In summary, the portfolio can be seen as a summary of the creative identity of the designer. In today’s intense competitive environment, more emphasis is given to how, in what form, how much this creative summary is presented or whether it is presented in a current language. Today, as in all fields, there is a period of intense technology-oriented solutions in the fields of design. This fact reveals itself as a variety of digital facilities and it’s intense use of course in the field of graphic design and portfolio design. These results suggest the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of using portfolio designs in traditional or new media areas. Does the designer have to evaluate the possibilities in digital areas for the current language? Does the traditional areas keep their validity? This study aims to find out the answers of these questions by comparing the fields of using in the portfolio design and to determine the reflections of the scanned global scale information in our country. For this purpose, a questionnaire was prepared for the graphic designers in the field of education and the sector and the analysis of the obtained data and a summary view about the current usage preferences and practice areas of the graphic designer portfolios in our country were put forward.
