Summary/Abstract: The author of this work deals with the problem of the historical genesis of the developement of the Macedonian Contemporary Historical School-MCHS, in the period between 1944 and 2003. The main emphasis when presenting the subject matter is on the critical and methodological direction of the MCHS in creating its own approach to, predominantly, national but also to world history. In this work, all the achievements of the MCHS in the period from its institutional founding in the second half of the 20th until the first years of the 21th century are enumerated and chronologically analysed. The place and the role of the main founders of the MCHS and their production in the period after the Second World War until the year 2003 are included in the analysis. In this vein, a critical analysis of the directions and methods of the MCHS in its effort to join the contemporary European historiography is also conducted.
