Summary/Abstract: This article proposes a discursive analysis of the writing of the quotidian and the innocuous in L’art presque perdu de ne rien faire, by Dany Laferrière. By studying some examples, we will show that the author valorizes the gestures and the little things of everyday life, which, by their discretion, generally pass unperceived, or which, by habit, we no longer notice. We will demonstrate that, in this work still under researched, to paint seemingly insignificant gestures and to reflect on what seems trivial constitute forms of commitment.
