Summary/Abstract: From the decade of seventies, in France and Germany, there could be observed a certain propensity of some playwrights, such as, for example, Deutsch, Lassalle, Wenzel and Vinaver, to be interested in the “everyday”. This theatre, quickly named “the theatre of the everyday”, turns away from the spectacular to return to the insignificant… Its field of investigation is the everyday existence of ordinary people. The article aims at showing some aspects of this current, using as an example texts of the authors who belong to the current or whose works resemble the theatre of the everyday: theatre of the everyday (Loin d’Hagondange by Jean-Paul Wenzel, 1976, an emblematic play of the theatre of the everyday); theatre of the here and now (Théâtre de chambre by Michel Vinaver, 1978); theatre of the intimate (Inventaires by Philippe Minyana, 1986, “the intimate of the everyday”) in order
