Summary/Abstract: Pop art has emerged partially , like all the art movements that have left its mark on art history, as a reaction to the status quo. The main reason, why pop art is dominant all over the world, is undoubtedly Andy Warhol. Having taken many marginal attitudes during his 59 years of life time, Warhol had a bold and determined mindset that never ceases to make the material names of the consumer culture, iconic fame figures and the symbolic names of sovereign politics. Andy Warhol admired Marilyn Monroe , the cult movie star and sex symbol of the 1950s , in an obsessive way. “Marilyn Diptich” is one of 23 different print works by Andy Warhol, which was created shortly after the death of Marilyn Monroe, who died of an overdose of drugs in 1962. The painting, in which Marilyn Monroe’s 50 portrait images were used that were taken by Gene Korman in 1953 during the shooting of the movie “Niagara” , has hassled art critics and has been the source of different perspectives in terms of identifying Warhol’s concerns about work
