Summary/Abstract: Any subject is tackled with poems in the general life of people in Çorum in Turkey. Çorum is one of the towns where the poems are recited and written. Oral poetry has been still carried out here in Çorum. Starting reciting the poetry depends upon from the person but it is important to use the appropriate technique and to choose of the subject. It is necessary to know the masters ofthe folk poetry as well as to develop one's own syle. One has to obey the rules the tradition in order to survive the oral poetry. This continuity is necessary for Çorum also.This town is a famous center for its women poets and ministrels. Oral reciting poems has reached to our age by changes, because of this it is important to follow the the changes. Written and oral mediums of culture are different because of this changes are different in different ages. Many things have changed in the past age. Oral art of words have also changed. The comparative studies on oral are necessary oral poetry for his reason.
