Summary/Abstract: In this article, the influence of imagination as an important component of creativity in the creative processes which forms design is analysed. During the analysis, focusing on the subjects like personal and environmental effects that reveal imagination, relation of imagining and creativity; questions like “how is the imagination formed in design process”, “what appears as of inspiration in the mind”, “can everyone be a designer” are examined and how those concepts make difference for design and designer is investigated. In different fields of life, besides being realised during daily-ordinary creative activities; imagination is an important dynamic provides motivation for extraordinary situations like artistic activities and design creating processes that require creativity. If different frames of mind existent in human nature, the act of imagining, making a choice and decision making mechanisms are evaluated as required, new ideas and different practices show up. Operating with an appropriate content, transformation into a conclusion, namely a product of those ideas and practices cause original designs to appear. In this manner, while design is influencing by many different interdisciplinary sources; dynamism occurring in mechanism of mind that sets forth design, many cognitive activities come into question.
