EVALUATION AND ADVICES OF KÜTAHYA TILE ART FROM PAST TO PRESENT

Summary/Abstract: Kütahya is the only center which makes production in parallel with İznik from 14. Century to the present in respect of Tile Art. Kütahya Tile Art protects its style from 18. Century and produces important works of art which takes places in world museums and reflects societies enthusiasm. However, changing economic structure and admiration concepts sometimes changes visual quality and rhythm of this art and effects negatively. Kütahya tile art has profoundly its own style and different products in its historic process but gave up its own style and starts İznik style production because of admiration to the İznik style. This passing caused to forget the Kütahya’s own style. Today, it’s observed that Kütahya starts to have totally different style which passes İznik style. In its historic process from past to present Kütahya Tile Art samples of product ranges given and made evaluation on these samples. This problem isn’t just a problem of production, solution suggestions were given to how it acquires dimension with all stages. In this working Kütahya tile art’s process from past to present and current situation are evaluated and new various advices are given in terms of Kütahya’s one of known ceramic center and ambience of city.
