Summary/Abstract: Literary initiation of the child involves the presence of a literary intermediary who transforms a written text into an audio form. Oral communication means not only reading a printed text but also establishing a close relationship with the listener, often respecting their wishes and expectations. Literary childhood is associated primarily with a fairy tale, which gives the child the most benefits and aesthetic satisfaction when it is told rather than read. As in folklore communication, such storytelling of magic tales may become an important interpersonal event performing integrative and psychotherapeutic functions.
