THE LITERARY TEXTS IN THE TRADITIONAL FUNEREAL RITUAL IN UKRAINIAN ENCLAVE OF SARATOVSKAYA DISTRICT

Summary/Abstract: The paper is devoted to the aspect of the folk non-formal “burial service” in the modern funereal ritual in Ukrainian enclave of Saratovskaya district (middle Volga region). The actual “burial service” is the collection of specific sacral texts performed by the groups of elderly women. The paper analyses the texts complete and origin. Some of these are the extracts from Orthodox divine service, but some are the Russian author’s secular works which were adopted into the folk tradition of the Ukrainian enclave with different transformations.
