Summary/Abstract: The ancient city of Prusias ad Hypium, located in the Konuralp, neighbourhood of Düzce, was established on the southern slope of a sheltered hill on the side of the Melen river bearing the name Hypios. Although it is not a port city and it is far from the sea, Prusias ad Hypium city on the banks of the Hypios, has benefited the natural advantages of the river used in transport and pouring from the Melenağzı to Pontos Euxeinos. The mouth of the Hypios River (Melenağzı) poured into Pontos Euxeinos was a convenient and well-sheltered harbour with navigation on the river to the interior and abroad.
