Summary/Abstract: Analyses for biological distance between communities is carried out by way of cranial and dental nonmetric traits. Contrary to dental traits, the relationship of cranial traits with sex and age has always been a matter of debate. Whereas a tendency towards nonmetric traits due to regional bone growth is observed in later ages, it is known that there is a tendency towards variations caused by regional bone deficiency in younger ages. Therefore, there is no exact information on the age groups that should be included in biological distance studies. The purpose of this study was to examine date from four different communities and to understand whether there are any relationships between cranial nonmetric traits and age groups. A total of 29 variations in 297 individuals have been examined within the scope of this study from communities of Van Castle Mound/Islamic, Van Castle Mound/Christian, Karagündüz and Kureyşler.
