2016 IASOS ANCIENT CITY STUDIES

Summary/Abstract: With the permission of Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Department of Museums, excavation season work was started in July and ended in September under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Asuman Baldıran. Like last year, we have been working with our Iasos excavation team in 6 different areas. The work started in 2015, depending on the first 5-year plan, also continued in 2016. The primary objective at this time was to complete the warehouse studies, which began in 2015. Besides these, the excavation house was repaired and aerial photographs were taken to promote the ancient city. Also cleaning work was done in bouleuterion. The depot arrangement under bouleuterion's seating positions was also made.
