Assessment of Iron and Steel Industry in Terms of Sponsors

Summary/Abstract: Iron the use of which was traced back up to 4000s BC had a driving force in the Industry Revolution. In the life of today's human beings, iron and steel are widely used in almost every field of the life that can come to one’s mind. In Turkey, as in the world, steel production and consumption has been increasing day by day. There are many legal and administrative regulations on the international iron and steel sector. The iron and steel sector is a sector in which creditors and financial institutions work extensively, almost all finance, insurance and banking products are used, as well as high credit availability and high deposit opportunities. Before and during the cooperation among the firms in the sector where highly coherent transactions take place, it is important to investigate well how the sector, the domestic and foreign variables and the international market can be affected. In the first part of this study, information regarding the history of iron and steel and their production methods are presented. In the second part, information regarding the development and current status of the world and Turkish iron and steel industry is given. In the 3rd part of the study, the restrictions applied to the iron and steel industries are presented. In the last part, the financial transactions in the iron and steel sector and the sector itself have been evaluated from a financial point of view.
